This time it was Kevin & Gabriella, good friends of ours from Toronto, who came to taste the beer and pick the clovers. After hanging out in Cork for a couple of days, we took them on a 3-day trip to Mizen Head, Sheep's Head, and then back through the Gougane Barra Forest. It was fun, beautiful, and very typically Irish. We had sun, we had rain, and we had fog. We had little local pubs with live music and a man playing the spoons. We arrived at Ballylickey for their 'weekend festival' just in time to see a boys' bike race down the street with the whole town gathered around cheering. In the end, it was all too short... but it always is.
