In Someone's Else's Shoes

Whoa, I seem to have lost momentum on my blogging project in a bad way. Well, I'll just pick myself up and dust myself off. Rather than trying to catch up from where I left off I think we'll just gloss over some highlights of the last few weeks, whaddaya say?

Remember when I mentioned that Jon's parents were coming and we were going to spend the weekend at Loophead Lighthouse? Well, it was wonderful. It was so remote and peaceful and windswept. It felt like there was a sort of raw nature all around us: cliffs diving into ocean, hares running through the fields, and hardly another human being to be seen anywhere.

The day that Jon's parents left Ireland, we welcomed our good friend Mike who came to stay with us for a few days. We had lots of fun with him....no pictures though. Somehow this is the only evidence of his visit: A picture of me in Mike's shoes!

Now we're on our own for a bit - no visitors. It's very peaceful and feels nice. On the other hand, we are excited for the next friend to arrive. He will come to us in a few days after completing the Camino de Santiago walk in Spain. No small feat! I'm eager to hear his stories.

On May 29th we leave for Tel Aviv. My youngest cousin is getting married, so my whole family will be there. It will be great to all be together. I'll even be meeting a new family member, my oldest cousin's 3rd baby!

In the meantime, I'm feeling great these days. I even started jogging, which is virtually a miracle if you know me at all. I'm hoping to keep it up as a regular habit, but I know myself well enough not to take any bets on that.

On a completely unrelated note, you would not believe how many middle aged & older men wear these hats in Ireland:

So there's your piece of Irishism for today!
Goodbye for now,
Linor
