The Cork Opera House

When we left Canada for Ireland, our goodbye/welcome gift from Abbe & family was particularly creative. She researched theatres and culture in Cork, and ended up giving us a gift certificate to the Cork Opera House. Fantastico!

Last night we used the gift certificate to see a musical play called Michael Collins, based on the true story of the famous Michael Collins who fought for the liberation of Ireland from British rule.

The play was great - It was a full house and we were in the fifth row! For me, it was both enjoyable and educational. Michael Collins is a key figure in Irish history, so I'm glad to have seen a version of that history recreated before my eyes.
